Sunset Day 3
After the wonderful day of touring the city of Bergen, it was finally time to board the MS Nordkapp – our home for the next twelve days.
Eye Opener #1
I know I should have expected it, but I did a double-take when our life jacket was full body. Other than that, was a good briefing.
Eye Opener #2
Donna and I were both very surprised with just how SMALL our cabin turned out to be with no port to look out. But we are both creative and are finding all sorts of ways to make it work.
Eye Opener #3
On the way to dinner that night, I was “welcomed” into the wonderful world of stomach upset. I was feeling so bad I talked to our group leader about getting off the boat before it left port and returning home. No time for that. So I settled in to get through the night.
There would be a long stop at the next port (Day 4, today) so we planned on me getting off to find a doctor.
<<Before I go further, I need to say it appears to have already worked itself out. I am feeling good.>>
Turns out that this ailment is so common up here particularly in winter, they have set procedures to handle it. Donna (she had a taste of it also) and I are quarantined in our tiny cabin for 48 hours. The crew has been delivering food and water and being attentive – from a distance.
Look On The Bright Side
We are at the beginning of the cruise and the weather is overcast. So far, we have not missed any Auroa Sightings. Plus Jeanine (our Auroa expert) said she will share a copy of her lecture tomorrow with me. So we will be able to catch up!
Hopefully I will have more photos to share in a day or so.
