Arctic Circle Crossing
Today was a full day at sea and a good chance for some much needed rest. The main event I attended at 8:30 this morning was crossing out of the Arctic Circle on our southbound voyage. As you may recall, Donna and I missed the north bound crossing since we were still in quarantine. Fortunately I did get a photo of the marker from that crossing. Good thing. Because as you can see in this snapshot, “shortie” was not near enough to the railing for a photo op this morning.
Interesting enough the celebration to commemorate this crossing was a spoonful of Castor Oil. I found out from others that the commemoration of the northern crossing was a spoonful of ice down your back. So Castor Oil was not so bad.
Footnotes
Today I added new photos (from our instructor) of the Northern Lights to yesterday’s post. I wanted to keep them all in the same spot, so go back and take a look. It really was an AWESOME experience.
