Siblings World
Today I am about 20 miles from the village where the genealogist found the baptism record for the youngest Sibling (Caspar). It is a foggy cool morning. Perhaps I should have done this in the beginning, but here is a map of France to show you where I am. The circle is approximately Alsace with Strasbourg in the upper portion of the circle. W are now located north, northwest of Strasbourg and the little village of Woerth is a little further north from from here.

One side note. Our local tour guide this morning has just returned from a visit to Castorville—just outside of San Antonio. A charming little Alsatian community. The traditional half-timbered houses are built to be mobile. The wooden frame is all numbered and filled in between with stone. The guide said they have recently transported one to Castorville and reconstructed it there. I must go see it when I return.

This morning we left the barge for a field trip to visit the famous Alsace hop fields — but the season is over and the structures await next years harvest. We are also enjoying some of the heaviest fog, so very few photos. I did snap a couple of scene from the slideshow for some comparison.

This evening for our barge cruise finale we will cruise the River Ill around the old city of Strasbourg. After our barge cruise ends tomorrow morning, I am going to extend a few more days to go down south to Colmar and visit the wine region. More about that later. Fingers crossed.
